About Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan is the bestselling author of the Percy Jackson series and the creator of the Camp Half-Blood universe. Born in 1964 in San Antonio, Texas, he was a middle school teacher who invented the Percy Jackson stories to engage his son who had ADHD and dyslexia. The Lightning Thief was published in 2005 and became a global phenomenon.

Riordan's universe has since expanded to cover Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Norse, and other mythologies. He also founded the Rick Riordan Presents imprint, which publishes mythology-based fantasy by other authors.
