About Terry Pratchett

Sir Terry Pratchett (1948–2015) was the bestselling British author of the Discworld series — 41 novels set on a flat world carried by four elephants standing on a giant turtle. His work combined satirical comedy with genuine insight into human nature, and his books sold more than 100 million copies worldwide. He was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's in 2007 and continued writing until his death.

Discworld is not a series with a single reading order — it consists of several subseries following different characters, all set on the same world. The Watch subseries and the Death subseries are the most beloved and the best entry points for adult readers. The Tiffany Aching novels are the best YA entry point.
